Envelope purse

I've been thinking of making an envelope purse for the longest time. I was inspired by a couple of clutch purses that I inherited from my grandmother and a similar-style envelope purse I brought back from Japan. What I ended up making is nothing like the fancy clutch purses from the 40s!

My creation is loosely based on the Coupon Clutch pattern in the Quilt Almanac 2011. I changed the size to make it more square and I don't intend to use it for coupons. This project was my first to use fusible facing and my first that required a snap. I am very pleased with the way it came out and I think the outer fabric is very me!
